Beginning in 2022, we commissioned an up-and-coming musical theatre writer to create a family friendly musical for our 2023 Summer Season. This was the beginning of our Writing Fellowship, allowing artists the freedom to create new works.

During the Fellowship, Piknik Theatre produces the production, supplies professional actors, a performance space, rehearsal space, costumes, sets, props, musicians, and publicity. 

​

Following the premier of the Fellow's work in Steamboat, Piknik Theatre produces an incubator process in New York City in the fall. This is a chance for the Fellow to have their piece performed, recorded, and produced in front of NYC's producers, artists, and actors.
