Summer 2026: A New Stage for Piknik Theatre
Summer 2026 marks the inaugural season of the Branham Amphitheater—a milestone in Piknik Theatre’s history and a new cultural home for the Yampa Valley. This season, the amphitheatre will come alive with Shakespeare, original work, live music, and family storytelling that reflect Piknik’s commitment to accessible, imaginative, and community-centered theatre.
Anchored by a bold production of Romeo & Juliet, our summer programming will blend professional performance with youth engagement, welcoming audiences of all ages into a shared experience of live art under the open sky.
From intimate acoustic evenings to playful Fairy Tale Theatre matinees, the Branham Amphitheatre is designed as a gathering place—where stories are told, connections are made, and creativity flourishes.
As we step onto this new stage, we invite our community to join us in shaping a vibrant, sustainable future for performing arts in Steamboat Springs.

FUNDING FOR THE ARTS
In recent years, funding for the arts has faced significant cuts, jeopardizing the very essence of creativity and cultural expression in society. These reductions not only impact artists and institutions but also diminish the diverse cultural landscape that enriches communities. As theaters close, galleries struggle to survive, and educational programs are slashed, the ripple effects are felt across all social strata. We are thankful for those who continue to support our work and the art we create together.
